RoHS
TDK-Lambda is committed to provide and deliver world class products that support global environmental policies. This includes compliance to the European Union (EU) Directives for Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS). As part of our standing process, applicable regulatory requirements and revisions are monitored with the full intent of timely product compliance.

Recycle TDK-Lambda's Power Products
TDK-Lambda power products contain electronic components and elements that should not be disposed of in the trash. Therefore, for proper treatment, recovery and recycling, please take our used power products to your local designated collection point for processing. Disposing of these products correctly will help save valuable resources and prevent pollution of our environment. Please contact your local authority for the electronic processing and/or recycling site nearest you. Thank you.

Conflict Minerals
Human rights issues surrounding mineral procurement have emerged as a crucial social challenge worldwide, prompting keen and rising interest in responsible procurement of such resources. For example, there are cases when minerals mined in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and adjoining countries serve as the source of funding for armed groups. This brought notice to how such minerals are used to bankroll conflict, resulting in human rights violations against local residents and other crises.
TDK began its response to the problem of conflict minerals following the enactment of the US Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act in 2010. The TDK Group Policy on Conflict Minerals* was formulated in April 2013 to promote initiatives in full compliance with the Due Diligence Guidance of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
Within this policy framework, TDK-Lambda is working with Greensoft to provide the information and evidence necessary to enable correct declaration of the CM status of TDK-Lambda products. Given the complexity of our supply chains, please contact us for declarations on a product by product basis.

California Proposition 65
California Proposition 65, the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is intended to protect drinking water sources from chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and to inform citizens about possible exposures to such chemicals.
TDK-Lambda has reviewed and evaluated the substance list of the California Proposition 65 regulation against our products. The results of the investigations showed, to the best of our knowledge, no risk of exposure to Prop 65 chemicals when the product is properly handled by service technicians and used for the intended purpose.

Green Procurement
We are promoting Green Procurement for our purchase activities in order to fulfill social responsibility through our activities that meet the requirement of the earth, society and our customers by maintaining and improving the environmental conservation activities in accordance with the above Environmental Philosophy.

Activities
Expand reduction of CO2 emissions through products (product contributions) is one of the core initiatives within TDK Environmental Vision 2035 and Environment, Health and Safety Action 2025. To mount potent appeals for the social contributions by TDK products as the fruits of technical initiatives, these product contributions have been calculated and disclosed from TDK Environmental Action 2020 (the Company’s previous medium- to long-term plan). Public awareness activities are also being advanced to gain understanding of the contributions of electronic components as intermediary parts, along with moves to formulate coherent industry standards for calculation methods positioned to serve as the basis for earning appropriate evaluations of product contributions performance.

EcoVadis
EcoVadis assesses the sustainability activities of companies in four themes: “environment,” “labor and human rights,” “ethics” and “sustainable procurement.” It has assessed more than 130,000 corporations in more than 180 countries and over 220 industries. The top 5% of all assessed companies are awarded the Gold Medal. TDK received this rating by demonstrating improvement in all four themes in the latest assessment. In particular in “environment” and “sustainable procurement,” its ratings were high because it was recognized that the company had established a high-level management system for formulating policies, implementing measures, and reporting results.
